1.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Technology devices distance people far more now than before.
I do agree with the statement that technology devices distance people. In the past, there were not so many ways for people to communicate with each other. The most commonly adopted way would be face to face communication. In recent years, new approaches of communication have been introduced, such as texting, calling as well as video chat. People are reluctant to talk with their friends and family in person. All the messages could be delivered instantly just by using their fingers. Spring festival is no longer a time when every family member gets together to spend some quality time. Instead, everybody keeps looking at their mobile phones. The relationship in a family is getting more and more indifferent. In addition, some young people are addicted to computer games so that they prefer to stay at home all the time.
2.Which of the following groups would you like to join? Campus newspaper, hiking club or dorm improvement committee.
Without a doubt, I would prefer to join hiking club. First of all, hiking is beneficial to my health. I usually spend 10 hours sitting in front of my computer, reading journal articles or coding. Exercise like hiking is totally suitable for me. After hiking, I would probably feel refreshed. It will become more efficient for me to study. Besides, it is a great opportunity for me to make some friends. They might have some positive influence on me. According to a survey, people who enjoy doing sports or exercise usually have a more positive attitude than those who don’t. I could be in a better mood after talking with them. Last but not least, I could eventually have a chance to get close to the nature.
3.Describe one family member who has different characteristics from other members
I would like to talk about my beloved mom who is adventurous, humorous and warm-hearted. First of all, she is the most adventurous person I have ever seen in my life. She is not afraid of taking risks at all. This May, she invested all of her saving in the stock market. Unlike others, she made quite a fortune. As a 50-year-old woman, she is eager to try various extreme sports, such as sky-diving, surfing as well as scuba-diving. Besides, she is so humorous that she would easily cheer me up. Sometimes, I would feel depressed or upset, it is easy for her to cheer me up with a funny story made up by her. Last but not least, she is always willing to help others when they are in trouble.
4.Some high school students in your community are planning to initiate a program promoting environmental friendliness. What advice would you offer them and why? Please include specific examples and details in your explanation.
Well if some high school students in my community are planning to organize some programs to protect the environment, i will suggest them to organize students to plant trees. That's mainly because planting trees can help clean the air. I mean plants and flowers and stuff are able to absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen through a process known as photosynthesis. so the air would become much more safer and cleaner for people to breathe.
